PREREQUISITES & REQUIREMENTS
B.A.S.E: Minimum 2 years’ experience with foundational knowledge
F.A.D.E.D: Suitable for confident 3rd years and qualified hairdressers looking to enhance their men's cutting skills. No prior barbering experience required - this course bridges the gap between hairdressing and barbering techniques.
B.O.U.N.C.E: Open to all qualified stylists and confident 3rd years passionate about mastering curly hair techniques. Basic cutting experience required, with a desire to specialise in textured hair services.

B.A.S.E is an in-depth Fundamentals cutting program run over 4 days, focusing purely on the 9 fundamental haircuts:
Learning to draw the relevant sections.
Discussion and explanation of the shape & tecnique used.
Demonstration of sectioning & cutting techniques prior to stylists’ practical commencement.

Course Details
COURSE OUTLINE
Over four structured days, stylists will explore the three core foundation shapes—Triangle, Square, and Round—each applied through the lens of Line, Graduation, and Layer. These nine combinations form the essential framework of all haircutting.
By the end of the course, stylists will:
Understand the why behind each shape and technique
Gain control and confidence in executing all 9 foundation haircuts
Be equipped to apply these techniques immediately on the salon floor, in real-time scenarios
This isn’t just about repetition—it’s about refining technique, building muscle memory, and unlocking creative freedom. When stylists understand the structure behind every cut, they can adapt, innovate, and deliver consistently excellent results.

DELIVERY
We’ve found that a maximum of 10 stylists per class works best. This allows us to create a learning environment that blends individualised training with a shared, collaborative experience.

EXPERIENCE LEVEL
This program is best suited for highly confident second-year apprentices that have expereince in cutting through to senior stylists—those ready to deepen their understanding of the 9 Fundamental Cutting Techniques and apply them with precision.
It’s designed for stylists who already have a foundation in haircutting and are looking to sharpen their skills, strengthen their technique, and gain clarity on how to use these fundamentals effectively on the salon floor.

Before each haircut, stylists will be guided through a PowerPoint presentation that outlines the key points, structure, and purpose of the technique they’re about to execute. This ensures every participant begins with clarity, confidence, and a strong understanding of the shape and method—setting them up for success in the practical session that follows.

HAIRCUT 1:
Classic short back and sides - No clippers just scissors!
Classic staple haircut, short back & sides. Here you will learn how to create perfect balance within the cut. Correct sectioning pattern that gives you a road map from start to finish. This cut will give you confidence moving forward in classic men’s cutting.
HAIRCUT 2:
Fade - Clipper & scissor!
Let’s breakdown the fade from zero to a textured shape on top. Here you will gain awareness on how to control your clippers and how to work through clipper attachments for a seamless fade. Walk away with the knowledge and confidence to do a killer fade.
